Garden Fountain Maintenance – Tips and Advice to Keep it Looking Good

Executive Summary by: Mike Ward

A beautiful elegant garden fountain is set off perfectly in a well kept garden.

Garden fountain maintenance is what it needs to recover from climate and harsh rain. Look for water leaking from the fountain; this could damage your garden plants if it goes on for too long.

Stagnant water in the fountain grows algae, which leaves the structure looking and smelling bad.

Always unplug the fountain before cleaning it every two weeks or so. This should keep the fountain running smoothly. To dismantle and clean the fountain, you may need to read the manufacturer’s instructions.

Is your garden fountain made of burnished copper or some other metal? Marble fountains only require a clean cloth to wipe off dust particles.

A garden fountain charms and enhances the appearance of your home.

That looks elegant! Perfect match for lilies, tulips and even orchids! Hmm, makes me think of doing that also in my garden. Thanks for the tip! And I hope you could feature some plants decorated with ponds as well? That would be absolutely awesome. Thanks for sharing!

My favorite flowers are calla lillies. They look so pretty surrounding the fountain! Are they hard to grow? My fountain is solar powered so it is in direct sun. Will they grow well there?
